Reclaim your crazy.
"It's not that bad."
"It will pass."
Even if this is all "true," let's be honest: we have all been through some crazy sh*t.
Counseling is all about getting an expert to help guide you through pain, numbness, helplessness, and feelings of dissatisfaction. I am here to help you move towards the person you want to become and how the life you want to live.
Ultimately, counseling is what you want it to be. There is no "right" way.
“Something feels off.” If you’ve felt this before, know that you are not alone. Many of my clients come to me with this feeling.
I help people of all ages who are going through life transitions. I also see people experiencing anxiety or depression and help them work through buried or minimized traumas.
My clients often feel like something is wrong with them or feel like outsiders. They are people who think about the bigger picture in life but may not know how to apply that to their lives.
I engage individuals and couples in the present moment to reduce anxiety and depression and improve emotional wellbeing. I help increase self-awareness and find purpose and happiness.
My approach is directive, interactive, and insight-oriented, focusing on the mind and body with mindful-based techniques and solution-focused collaborative guidance.
I'm a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Washington, D.C. and I have been working in the area for over 6 years.
I have my BA in Psychology from Meredith College, an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University, and I hold a license in the District of Columbia for Professional Counseling. I studied at the Washington School of Psychiatry in the Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy program and I am a member of the American Counseling Association.
Individuals and couples who are struggling with relationships, transitions, anxiety and depression. I work with couples who are experiencing issues with communication, loss of intimacy and trust or are stuck in a pattern or cycle that is not working.
I focus on identifying what emotional hurdles are preventing my clients from emotional wellbeing, which derives from having more satisfying, fulfilling, and healthy relationships with self and others.
I help individuals who are struggling with low self-esteem or patterns of behavior that are a barrier to being their best self.
How to handle and reduce conflict, increase healthy communication styles, increase connection and intimacy and enhance quality of relationship.
How to build and maintain a strong and lasting relationship by daily work of emotional intimacy and issues of compatibility.
